Hospis Melaka is a non-profit voluntary association (NGO) consisting of a full-time Nurse Coordinator who is supported by volunteer doctors, staff nurses and lay persons who have had training in understanding Hospice Philosophy. Hospis Melaka offers its service through the Hospice At-Home Programme where the full-time nurse and volunteers visit advanced cancer patients, their families and caregivers in their own homes.
As each individual's needs and problems are different, during the first visit and subsequent visits, the Hospice At-Home Programme nurse assesses the patients and work with them and their families/caregivers in finding ways to improve their quality of lives.
